«Our archive is a unique historical archive of conversations, activities, and literature from BIPOC* perspectives. It documents the history of BIPOC* struggles and emancipation movements and individuals in Switzerland as well as in other parts of the world. Our library is a unique historical collection of registered, recorded and witnessed physical writings that stand and remain in need to share the knowledge, spread the voices and revitalise and strengthen the struggles and movements of BIPOC* thoughts through their perspectives and perceptions with their pre-colonial facts and post- colonial theoritical critiques. The archive and library consist of unique book collections, archives and artifacts that are the legacy of BIPOC* authors and scholars.»
In the library there are more than 600 printed books and more than 800 e-books. The collections deal with racism and ethnic issues, slavery and colonisation, migration and capitalism, empiricism and imperialism, civil rights and workers movements, gender and feminism, art, literature, and culture, social science and development, children’s books and much more.
Black feminist practices are essential to our library and archiving practices.
